The heinous crimes committed by Gein will be examined in-depth in the four-part true crime documentary series titled Psycho: The Lost Tapes of Ed Gein, produced by MGM+.
The upcoming series, scheduled to debut on September 17th on MGM+, is being directed and executive produced by James Buddy Day, who has previously worked on Blumhouse’s Compendium of Horror and Fall River. With never-before-seen footage and fresh revelations, viewers will be transported back to the late 1950s in Central America and fully immersed in In Gaine’s distorted psyche. The series explores Guyon’s childhood and his distorted relationship with his mother, which served as the inspiration for Alfred Hitchcock’s renowned “Psycho.”
Also discussed are his early acts of grave robbery, the murders that led to his arrest, and the grotesque horror house where he was discovered by the police – all while incendiary footage reveals new information.
