The renowned horror film, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, directed by Tobe Hooper, was set on August 18th, 1973, and later released in October of the following year.
In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the film’s events and the 49th anniversary of the movie itself, Michael Kallio, the director, is soon to release a documentary titled Dinner with Leatherface. This documentary will explore the life, career, and legacy of Gunnar Hansen, the original Leatherface actor. The film features interviews with notable actors like Bruce Campbell and Barbara Crampton.
Dinner with Leatherface is scheduled to debut in October of this year.
The documentary is a production of Darkart Entertainment, a company founded by Kallio. Lowell Northrop produced the documentary, with Michael Felsher serving as co-producer. Dinner with Leatherface is replete with interviews featuring Hansen’s colleagues and fellow actors, including Barbara Crampton, Bruce Campbell, Kane Hodder, and Brian O’Halloran, as well as his collaborators from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Daniel Pearl and Kim Henkel. Additionally, the documentary offers an exclusive look at behind-the-scenes footage of Hansen while on the set of the film, as well as a selection of his personal photographs.
