The highly anticipated sequel, Meg 2: The Trench, has a release date set for August 4th, 2023.
Warner Bros. Pictures and CMC Pictures have teamed up to bring the highly anticipated sequel, Meg 2: The Trench to audiences. Starring Jason Statham and Li Bingbing in the leading roles, the ensemble cast features a talented group of actors, including Sophia Cai (returning from The Meg), Page Kennedy (also from The Meg), Sergio Peris-Mencheta (known for his role in Rambo: Last Blood), Skyler Samuels (from The Gifted), and Cliff Curtis (a veteran actor from the Avatar franchise).
Ben Wheatley, who has directed In the Earth and Free Fire, is at the helm of Meg 2: The Trench. The screenplay is written by Jon Hoeber & Erich Hoeber (known for The Meg and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts) and Dean Georgaris (known for The Meg and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life). The screen story is a collaboration between Dean Georgaris and Jon Hoeber & Erich Hoeber, and is based on Steve Alten’s novel The Trench.
Belle Avery (Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, The Meg) and Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Bumblebee, The Meg) are the producers of the movie. The film is executive produced by a star-studded team consisting of Ruigang Li, E. Bennett Walsh, Wu Jing, Randy Greenberg, Catherine Xujun Ying, Cate Adams, Gerald R. Molen, Jason Statham, and Erik Howsam.
