If you have ever watched the movie Saw and felt like it was lacking in musical numbers, then you are in for a treat.
Cooper Jordan Entertainment has had tremendous success in Philadelphia, and they are now bringing SAW The Musical: The Unauthorized Parody of Saw to off-Broadway stages this fall! The writer behind the acclaimed productions of “DEX! A Killer Musical” and “The Rat Pack Undead,” Cooper Jordan, has created a new production called “SAW The Musical.”
The show was penned by the award-winning author Zoe Ann Jordan, known for her work on “Virtuoso – NYCHFF”, and features music and lyrics by Patrick Spencer and Anthony De Angelis, the creative team behind “An Axemas Story.”
Accomplished director and Tony Award winner Stephanie Rosenberg, who has worked on productions such as “Easter Bunny HOP! LIVE,” “Moulin Rouge! The Musical,” and “Anastasia,” is helming the project, while the musical direction is being handled by Leigh Pomeranz, who also worked on “DEX! A Killer Musical.
SAW The Musical: The Unauthorized Parody of Saw features a talented cast that includes Bart Shatto, who has performed in Dracula: the Musical, as Gordon. Adam Parbhoo, known for his role in Home’s Kitchen, plays Adam, while Jill Owen, who has appeared in Easter Bunny HOP! LIVE;, plays the roles of Amanda, Alli, and Jigsaw.
The voiceover for Detective Tapp is provided by Donnell Johnson, and additional roles are played by Danny Durr (A Christmas Carol), Gabrielle Goodman (Open, Stay), Patrick Voss Davis (Lucky Louie, Newsies), James Lynch (Baby Powder), Thomas Skea (Out of Water), Morgan Traud (Mame), and Jessica Morilak (A Sketch of New York).
Starting September 16, individuals in New York who are fans of Saw may witness live performances at the AMT Theater. The show will continue every Saturday at 11 PM and Sunday at 5 PM. The show’s duration is approximately 100 minutes with no intermission and is not suitable for children under the age of 16.
