NEON, a studio that has won numerous awards, recently revealed the release of They Follow. This highly anticipated sequel to the modern classic horror film It Follows (2014) is directed and written by the visionary David Robert Mitchell and stars Maika Monroe.
Monroe is set to reprise her role as Jay Height, which earned her a nomination for an Empire Award® due to her outstanding performance in It Follows.
The news was reported by Bloody Disgusting. Monroe’s Jay Height is a young woman who is followed by an enigmatic, supernatural presence after a sexual encounter in the initial flick. However, in 2024, this same threat looms over everyone and everything, ubiquitous and pervasive.

During this week’s AFM, NEON will present the title to global buyers. Principal photography is scheduled to commence in 2024. Good Fear Content will co-produce the film alongside NEON. The film’s producer is Mitchell, working in conjunction with Jake Weiner and Chris Bender from Good Fear Content, as well as It Follows’ original producers David Kaplan, Erik Rommesmo, Rebecca Green, and Laura Smith.
The partnership between filmmaker David Robert Mitchell and NEON CEO Tom Quinn has resulted in their second collaboration, known as They Follow. Quinn’s label RADiUS previously released It Follows in 2014, which rapidly achieved a cult following and earned $15 million in domestic box office sales.
