Universal Pictures is currently producing a sequel to the 1996 action-adventure hit Twister, and Deadline has just released a new update with exciting casting news.
The upcoming film, produced by Universal and Amblin, will star Kiernan Shipka (known for her role in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Maura Tierney (from The Affair), Harry Hadden-Paton (famous for his role in Downton Abbey), Sasha Lane (featured in American Honey), Nik Dodani (of Atypical fame), David Corenswet (known for his work in Pearl), Tunde Adebimpe (who appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming), and Katy O’Brian (known for her role in The Mandalorian).
As per the earlier announcement, the cast of Twisters will include Daisy Edgar-Jones (known for Hulu’s Fresh) in the lead role, along with Brandon Perea (from Nope), as well as Glen Powell and Anthony Ramos.
Twisters is set to hit theaters on July 19, 2024.
The film will be helmed by Lee Isaac Chung, known for his work on Minari. The script will be penned by Mark L. Smith, who is known for his work on “The Revenant.” The sequel to director Jan de Bont’s 1996 film will be produced by Frank Marshall.
