Horror fans will no doubt be familiar with actor and filmmaker Graham Skipper, as he starred in films such as Tales of Halloween, Carnage Park, The Devil’s Dolls, The Leech, Christmas Bloody Christmas, and Suitable Flesh. He also directed Space Clown and Sequence Break, so he clearly has an impressive body of work within the horror genre.
Skipper’s next film was The Lonely Man with the Ghost Machine, which he wrote and directed, in addition to playing the lead role. The post-apocalyptic science fiction film tells the story of a man named Wozzek (Skipper), who struggles to remain sane in the wasteland he now calls home, while also being hounded by a mysterious stranger with unclear motivations. Wozzek eventually constructs a machine which he believes can resurrect his deceased wife, Nellie (Christina Bennett Lind), although he also learns that attempting to do so will probably have dire consequences. And composer Van Hughes, who often collaborated with Skipper, was responsible for creating the film’s soundtrack.
The Lonely Man with the Ghost Machine just had its European premiere at FrightFest, where it was positively received by critics and general audience members. We also caught up with Skipper and Hughes at FrightFest to interview them about the film, and you can watch the interviews for yourself below. The interviews were filmed at FrightFest on the day of the screening, and both Skipper and Hughes were clearly very excited to discuss The Lonely Man with the Ghost Machine with us. It also seems likely that horror fans will be hearing much more about The Lonely Man with the Ghost Machine as it continues its festival run.
