Army of Darkness has a brilliant 4K steelbook release from Shout Factory who continuously and consistently releases top notched rereleases of classic movies on new formats. This title is no exception, the picture jumps out at you like it’s a 3D picture, the sound makes your speakers shake along with your subwoofer. If you have a Dolby Atmos set up you will be very pleased.
We all know Sam Raimi in the horror community rather it be from this franchise or his Ghost House Pictures productions and or his most recent Drag Me To Hell or Doctor Strange and the multiverse of madness. This and Evil Dead 2 are my favorites of the Evil Dead franchise and an interesting tidbit most may not be aware of is that Bill Mosley is in Army of Darkness as well.
Bruce Campbell is fantastic as Ash Williams, it’s a wonder why it took so long for us to get a proper sequel to Army of Darkness like Ash Vs The Evil Dead series on Starz which is just as brilliant. Overall Shout Factory continues to prove why they’re better than Severin Films and Vinegar Syndrome day in and day out.
