After a hiatus of 16 years, the Exorcist series is making a comeback on the silver screen this Halloween with The Exorcist: Believer.
Today, a new official trailer for the movie has been released. The preview for the forthcoming horror flick’s second trailer commences with a legacy sequel strategy. This involves the re-introduction of Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn) into the story.
Universal, Blumhouse, and Morgan Creek have enlisted David Gordon Green to direct the newest installment of The Exorcist franchise. This sequel will act as a launching point for a brand new trilogy. Leslie Odom Jr. has been cast to star in the first film of the trilogy, which is set to hit theaters on October 6, 2023.
Starring alongside them will be Ann Dowd, who is known for her role in the film “Hereditary,” Raphael Sbarge, who has appeared in “Gaslit,” and Jennifer Nettles, who has made a name for herself on “The Righteous Gemstones.
The screenplay for the movie Believer was penned by Peter Sattler, known for his work on Broken Diamonds, and Gordon Green. The story itself was developed collaboratively by Scott Teems, Danny McBride, and Gordon Green.
