It has been quite some time since any news regarding Eli Roth’s film adaptation of the beloved video game, Borderlands, has reached our ears.
However, we can now rejoice as the long-awaited release date has been revealed during Comic-Con today.
The highly anticipated release of Borderlands by Lionsgate is set for August 9, 2024, which is more than a year away from the present day.

Lilith, an infamous outlaw with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of the universe’s most powerful S.O.B., Atlas. Among the group of actors selected for the film adaptation of the video game, there are several notable names. Jack Black will be portraying the character Claptrap, Florian Munteanu will be taking on the role of Krieg, and Ariana Greenblatt will be embodying the character Tiny Tina.
Additionally, Jamie Lee Curtis will be playing Tannis, Cate Blanchett will be portraying Lilith, Kevin Hart will be taking on the role of Roland, and Gina Gershon will be embodying the character Moxxi.
The cast also includes Edgar Ramirez, Janina Gavankar, Cheyenne Jackson, Charles Babalola, Benjamin Byron Davis, Steven Boyer, Ryann Redmond, and Haley Bennett.
The screenplay was co-authored by Eli Roth and Joe Crombie.
