Synopsis:
Haunted by the death of her young daughter, a distraught woman develops an all-consuming obsession with a girl she believes is her reincarnated child.
Here Before is an excellent psychological thriller featuring an all time performance from its lead actress Andrea Riseborough, that no matter how many times you think you’ve been down this road before in a plot standpoint, you will want to watch it for her over and over again.
The movie does not break any new ground for the genre, yet it is still captivating as a stylish independent thriller, that should be on a lot of movie buffs radar. If you like British entertainment as much as I do this should be up your alley.
It’s one of the few movies that come out in the first quarter of the year that is a strong release in the genre, we’ve already seen Scream break the mold for what we typically think of horror January releases then we have Here Before and The Cursed. It’s been a great opening for genre films so far in 2022.
